Despite being cancelled by snow in November and a major ice storm the 1997 Championships were completed. The year's delayed action featured the best doubles event in recent memory. 5 Evenly matched teams had a majority of the matches decided in the last few points of the third game including the Championship match.

The "A" Open Division featured another rematch of former State champions Harvey Klugman and Greg Born. This year Greg was able to come out on top with steady play and fewer unforced errors. After winning the first game by just a few points Greg built an early lead and went on to win the second game and the title. This marks the third champion in as many years.
